Battery/charging system

Make sure that your battery is fully charged and the connections clean and tight, if your battery is more than four years old have it load tested or replace it, marginal batteries or connections make the charging system work overtime possibly causing a failure.

A good idea is to invest in a battery tender it charges the battery the same way as the motorcycle does when running.plug it in and forget it.

Fluid levels make sure that your oils are all topped up, if you didn't replace the oils do so before you ride, oils get contaminated from condensation and the natural process of the engine running. It's a good idea to replace the oils in the fall before the motorcycle is winterized.

Don't run the motor in the winter, letting it run for a few minutes causes condensation and could lead to internal engine corrosion.

Tires

One of the most important but often overlooked item is the tire pressure make sure to check the air pressures cold or after being stopped for at least an hour.

Don't forget to check them monthly during ridding season, tires loose pressure as rubber to a certain degree is pourus.

Low tires wear faster and can contribute to unsafe handling.

As always make sure to follow the manufacturers recommendations! A clean motorcycle is a happy motorcycle, Wash you motorcycle with an approved detergent ( don't use dish soap it peels the wax off!) Harley-Davidson® has some great cleaning products.
